This way of coaching takes in every part of life. We can all be experts in some areas but are often novices in others. When faced with some sort of difficulty, we tend to revert to approaches we have used before. What to do, then, if they don't work? If an answer is proving hard to find, it may be that we need to look somewhere that we haven't looked already. An integral coach can act as a guide, as a travelling companion, as you explore those neglected parts of our existence.
Often it’s a particular challenge or problem that provokes an interest in coaching. How do I get promoted? How do I sustain relationships? How do I deal with anxiety? Integral Coaching works at a level that nurtures the awareness and skills required to tackle the issue at hand but which can also be used in other areas - at home as well as in the office, with colleagues as well as with friends…
There’s no point in a coach searching for a pathway to fulfilment, if the client’s immediate need is for a good night's sleep or to prepare for an important presentation. Integral Coaching is intended to have a practical impact - to offer what ever will be most helpful, right now. It meets people where they are at this moment - in the middle of their lives.
Insight can be wonderful. But - like a match flaring in a darkened cave - its value can be fleeting. Integral Coaching teaches people both to notice what's really happening in their lives and then, through careful practice, allows them to build the skills they need to thrive in that reality. That awareness and those skills allow the client to move on, without further need for a coach.
The relationship is based on real presence and complete trust. Whatever is created, is created by both participants. It's not just about clever questioning. It's not just about sage advice. In a unique and safe space, away from familiar routines and pressures, possibilities open up that no amount of solitary head-scratching or navel-gazing could reveal.
Each Integral Coaching programme is unique - elegantly and creatively designed to meet the specific needs of the person being coached. It will be geared towards an agreed purpose and will be framed by a number of clearly stated objectives. Those objectives are laid out in such a way as to make it clear, at the end of the programme, how much progress has been made
